Take a Hike

There isn’t a better place to hike than Mammoth Lakes thanks to the number of hikes, their accessibility, and the sheer beauty you’ll enjoy along the way. Plus, Labor Day weekend is the perfect time to get outside before the cool weather has us all longing for summer days.

We’ve written about hiking before, but it’s important that we reemphasize the need to be safe while hiking over Labor Day weekend here.

Heat, high elevation, and physical exercise don’t mix well, and if you’re hiking through Mammoth Lakes you’ll find all three. Plus, the trails will likely be crowded this Labor Day, so it’s important that everyone watches out for their own safety as well as that of those around them. Lastly, don’t forget to Leave No Trace while on the trail. We want out trails to stay open, clean, and beautiful for generations to come, so help us by doing your part!

Trashy Thursdays

We just mentioned the importance of taking care of the Mammoth Lakes area, and Trashy Thursdays are a great opportunity to do just that if you’re in town on Thursday, September 1st.

Trashy Thursdays take place every Thursday throughout the summer so that locals and visitors can contribute to cleaning up the local environment before the snow falls again. This Thursday, the event will take place at Shady Rest Park. For more information, click the link above.

Mammoth Rock ‘N Rye

What else is there to say other than good whiskey and beautiful mountain views?

Mammoth Rock ‘N Rye is the premiere whisky festival in Mammoth Lakes, and it’s taking place on September 2nd through the 4th. Enjoy whiskey from local makers and hear their stories while asking questions about their spirits all weekend long.

This is a ticketed event with limited space, so make sure you buy your tickets at the link above before they’re gone!
