Weekend Après Party at Canyon Lodge
This year, Easter weekend happens to line up with the last few days of the season for Canyon Lodge so it’s a great time to visit!
On Friday April 15th, there will be a weekend Après Party that is perfect for anyone who wants to celebrate the end of an incredible week at Mammoth Mountain, the beginning of a great weekend, or just about anything else.
Starting at 2 pm there will be food and drink specials on the Canyon Lodge sundeck with a live DJ performing from an elevated gondola car over the entire scene. The party will go on until 5 pm, giving you just enough time to relax before a fun night in Mammoth Lakes!
There will also be another Weekend Après party taking place the following day at the same time at Canyon Lodge if you can’t make it out to Friday’s event!
Mammoth Caldera Burn
Want to test yourself by hiking through snow to the top of California’s highest lift-serviced peak? The Mammoth Caldera Burn is perfect for you.
Caldera Burn participants will begin the ascent of Mammoth Mountain from Canyon Lodge on April 16th starting at 7:30 am and will have until 1:30 pm to complete five ascents with skis and skins. Mammoth has created two different routes and classes for the event. There is an elite route that will push participants to their limit as well a recreational route that is more suited to beginners and intermediates.
Mammoth Mountain will be providing special rental deals to those who need it, and has listed out the details of each course on their website. For more information about the Caldera Burn and to register for the event click here.
Mammoth Mountain Pond Skim
Still have enough left in the tank to have a blast on Easter Sunday at Mammoth Mountain?
Good, because Mammoth has saved the best for last.
At 2 pm on Sunday April 17th, Mammoth will hold its annual pond skim at Canyon Lodge. The pond skim is a crowd favorite because it involves costumed participants skimming across a manmade pond at the bottom of Canyon Lodge on skis and snowboards. The costumes, crashes, and crowds make the pond skim one of the best events of the year.
