To do even more though, we’ve written about 5 ways to save money at Mammoth Mountain this winter below. Check it out, and then plan your Mammoth Mountain vacation with Mammoth Bound!

Buy the Ikon Pass

The value of the Ikon Pass is simple, the more you ski or snowboard the more money you save

The Ikon Pass is a collective pass that gives owners access to dozens of mountains all over the world for one price. Although the Ikon has different packages that offer different levels of access, it functions as a season pass, so, like a season pass, the more you use it the more you save on what you would pay for individual lift tickets.

The Ikon Pass is most valuable to people who ski and snowboard often though. If that’s not you then we still have other tips that can help you save at Mammoth Mountain!

Carry Chains in Your Car

Imagine this.

Your long-planned trip to Mammoth Mountain happens to line up with a sudden storm that’s dropping heavy snow on the slopes. Your lodgings, time off, and passes are all lined up. All you have to do is drive to the mountain through the snow.

While driving though, you hit a chain control stop where cars can no longer continue towards Mammoth without chains on their tires. Suddenly you have to find a different way to get to the mountain or wait for the roads to clear before your perfect trip can continue.

Don’t put yourself in that situation. Carry chains in your car that you’re comfortable installing so that you never lose a day on the mountain because of snow on the road.

Buy Lift Tickets Online Ahead of Time

One of the easiest ways to save money on lift tickets is by purchasing them online, well ahead of your visit.

When you buy your lift tickets online and ahead of time, you not only get access to package deals based on how many tickets you’re buying that you won’t get at the ticket window, but you also get an online discount. Check out the Mammoth Mountain lift ticket page here for more information!

Consider Buying a Beginner Pass

Mammoth Mountain has more than a thousand acres of skiable terrain, but if you’re a beginner skier or snowboarder then you won’t be able to enjoy all of it. Don’t pay for runs you can’t enjoy by buying the beginner pass.

The Mammoth Mountain beginner pass gives skiers and snowboarders access to a few lifts around the base for a lower price than a regular lift ticket so that they don’t pay for access to runs they won’t ride. If that sounds like you or someone you’re visiting with, then consider buying a Mammoth Mountain beginner pass.

Kids Ski Free at June Mountain

Lastly, if you’re riding with children then consider visiting June Mountain which is only a short drive away from Mammoth Mountain.

June Mountain lets kids 12 and under ride for free so you can get the same Eastern Sierra Mountain experience for less!
